Important Things To Remember for 2012-2013

Enrollment Login Information

This year's online enrollment uses a different username and password! Your username is the first six (6) letters of your Last Name, followed by the first initial of your First Name and the last four numbers of your Social Security Number. Your Password is your full Last Name, excluding punctuation, followed by the last four numbers of your Social Security Number, with no dashes.

Example: John Smith 123-45-6789 - will be smithj6789 with a password of smith6789.

Example: Irma Example 123-45-6789 - will be exampli6789 with a password of example6789.


  1. The TRS ActiveCare Medical plans will have rate increases and some changes in benefits effective September 1, 2012. See plan summary and new rates under the Benefits and Forms link/Medical for more specific information.


  2. A MEDlink supplement is being offered this year; you can view the presentation on this website to get an understanding of how it works. This plan pays benefits to offset doctor visits and deductibles. See the brochure on the forms link for more specific information.

  4. NBS, (National Benefit Services) will continue to serve as the Third Party Administrator (TPA) for Texarkana ISD’s Cafeteria Plan for the Plan year the runs from September 1, 2012 to August 31, 2013. A stored value Debit Card is available for the Medical Reimbursement Accounts and there is a $1.50 monthly fee. FBS will pay this fee for the coming year. IMPORTANT: These accounts are “USE IT OR LOSE IT.” Plan your contributions carefully! Remember to keep ALL receipts in the event you are asked to prove the expenses were for eligible expenses.   5. ALL EMPLOYEES are required to complete the online enrollment process to continue benefit elections. The time period for your Spring open enrollment is April 23rd – May 24th, and enrollment representatives will be available to assist you May 14th through the 18th.


  6. Texarkana ISD’s Cafeteria plan year is September 1, 2012 through August 31, 2013. All new coverage is effective September 1, 2012.


  7. The Dental carrier continues to be CIGNA. There is a High Option that pays up to $1000/year and a Low Option that pays up to $500/year. See plan information under the Benefits and Forms link for details on plan options and cost summary.


  8. The Cancer insurance coverage is being offered through American Public Life (APL) for the coming year. The coverage is guaranteed issue but pre-existing limitations will apply. There are two options available and an Optional ICU Rider. See plan information under the Benefits and Forms link.


  9. The District is again offering a Vision plan with Superior Vision. There is a $10 Exam Co-pay and a $25 Materials co-pay when a Superior Vision provider is selected. See more information and monthly premiums under the Benefits and Forms link.


  10. The District continues to offer the Long Term Disability for all eligible employees at no cost. The carrier for the LTD and Short Term Disability is ING. If you wish to enroll in the Short Term Disability plan, you will need to complete the health application and be approved for coverage; new hires are guaranteed acceptance. See the benefits and forms link for additional information.


  11. ING will continue as the group term life carrier this year. New employees may insure themselves up to 7 times salary or $150,000; spouses up to $50,000 and children up to $10,000 without completing a health application. All new amounts of coverage are subject to health underwriting and an application must be completed. See the benefit plan summary for more information on cost and coverage.
