Important Things To Remember for 2010-2011

1. Mass Group Marketing, (MGM) continues as the Third Party Administrator (TPA) for Texarkana ISD’s Cafeteria Plan for the Plan year the runs from September 1, 2010 to December 31, 2011. A stored value Debit Card known as the MGM FlexCard is included for the Medical Reimbursement Accounts and there is a $1.50 montly fee. IMPORTANT: These accounts are “USE IT OR LOSE IT.” Effective beginning on January 1, 2011, over-the-counter medicines or drugs will no longer eligible for reimbursement under an FSA without a doctor’s prescription. 3. ALL EMPLOYEES are required to complete the online enrollment process to continue benefit elections. Due to a new Federal update, social security numbers are required if any dependent health coverages are elected. The time period for your open enrollment is May 1 – 14t, and enrollment representatives will be available to assist you May 10 – 13th.



4. Texarkana ISD’s Cafeteria plan year is September 1, 2010 through August 31, 2011. All new coverage is effective September 1, 2010.



5. The Dental carrier continues to be Dental Select for the plan year beginning September 1. There is a High Option that pays up to $1000/year and a Low Option that pays up to $500/year. See plan information under the Benefits and Forms link for details on plan options.



6. The Cancer insurance coverage is being offered through American Public Life (APL) for the coming year. There are two options available and an Optional ICU Rider. See plan information under the Benefits and Forms link.



7. The District is again offering a Vision plan with Superior Vision. There is a $10 Exam Co-pay and a $25 Materials co-pay when a Superior Vision provider is selected. See more information and monthly premiums under the Benefits and Forms link.



8. The District continues to offer the Long Term Disability for all eligible employees at no cost. The new carrier for the LTD and Short Term Disability is ING. This year the STD plan is offered to all employees on a guaranteed issue basis. If you wait until next year to enroll, you will need to be approved for coverage. 9. ING will be the NEW group term life carrier this year. New employees may insure themselves up to 7 times salary or $150,000; spouses up to $50,000 and children up to $10,000 without completing a health application. All new amounts of coverage are subject to health underwriting and an application must be completed. See the benefit plan summary for more information on cost and coverage.
